Why Cold Plunge/Cold Therapy?

Why Cold Plunge/Cold Therapy?

Cold plunge or cold therapy is an excellent tool for reducing pain, inflammation and swelling.

You don't have to be an athlete to benefit from cold therapy. While they help with recovery, there are also several other benefits that cold water therapy can provide.

Besides physical benefits, cold plunge also has lots of mental health benefits.

Submerging in the Cold Plunge for a few minutes at a time, can help increase your energy, mental strength and resilience while simultaneously working on reduction of your aches and pains!

Is Cold plunge safe?

Cold Plunge is safe for most people, however, there are a few things we recommend. If you are experiencing medical issues that might be affected by cold therapy, please check with your doctor before plunging.

How does it work?

The water in the Cold Plunge is constantly circulating and at 46℉. This action is done when water is pumped out on both sides of the tub, cooled by the chiller, and then pumped back in. Sitting in “moving” water pulls the heat away from your body faster compared to sitting in the still water of the same temperature.

How long should I be in the Cold Plunge?

We recommend 10 full breaths inhale / exhale or around 2-5 minutes maximum. Repeated up to 3 times if you like. You don’t need to be in the cold for very long to get the benefits. Going longer doesn’t increase the benefits in a meaningful way in most cases and can be detrimental.
